BAKED SPICED BEEF EMPANADS USING PIE CRUST

INGREDIENTS - Pie crust rolls - Ground beef - Olive oil - Garlic - Scallions - Chili powder - Cumin - Salt, pepper - Egg

Simply sear the beef with garlic, scallions, chili powder, cumin, salt, and black pepper.

You can save some time in the kitchen by using pie crust dough instead of making your own for these yummy empanadas. 

Take the cooled ground beef mixture and add a heaping spoonful to the center of each circle, creating a tall mound that leaves about ¾″ space from filling to edge.

Using the egg wash, use it on the pie crust dough to stick the halves together before crimping the edges with the tines of a fork. 

Brush more egg wash on top of the empanadas and add a light sprinkling of chili powder.

TIP

If you want to freeze these for later, place them on parchment paper to freeze and then double wrap in a tupperware or ziploc bag.
