If you are looking to eat less red meat or just want a healthier version of lasagna, this is it. Ground chicken is a perfect substitute for a lean bite. You still get the cheesy tomato layers of comfort food to fulfill the cravings. Make this dish ahead and freeze a lasagna for later!
Add ground chicken to a mixing bowl and combine the seasonings.
Once you brown the ground chicken, in the same Dutch oven, add in your crushed and diced tomatoes. Stir in the seasonings.
Stir in a cornstarch lurry and let the sauce thicken up, by simmering it a few minutes.
Add seasonings to your ricotta cheese
Begin assembling the lasagna. Start with some sauce, the dry lasagna and add some ricotta cheese before putting italian ground chicken sauce over that.
Keep layering until the 4th and final section. Cover the top with mozzarella so it is completely melted. Bake it 40 minutes covered, then remove the cover and let it get golden brown.
